In 1990 he received his Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School. Mr. Leigh was a member of the Stanford Law Review, President of the Black Law Student’s Association and active with the National Lawyer’s Guild.

Following law school, Mr. Leigh joined the law firm of Jackson, Tufts, Cole & Black before joining the Santa Clara Public Defender’s Office in 1991. From 1993 to 1999 he worked as a trial attorney with the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office where he represented adults and juveniles charged with serious felonies and handled over fifty jury and court trials.

In 1999 Mr. Leigh joined Keker & Van Nest, becoming a partner in 2004. While At Keker & Van Nest, Mr. Leigh represented businesses and individuals in a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including business disputes, unfair business practice claims, intellectual property disputes, class actions, SEC investigations, government fraud claims and employment disputes. An experienced litigator, Mr. Leigh has substantial experience representing clients before state and federal court, arbitral proceedings, and administrative proceedings and State legislative bodies. Mr. Leigh also handled state and federal criminal and quasi-criminal matters, including SEC investigations, white-collar crime, and government fraud claims through trial and appeal.

In 2001-02 Mr. Leigh was appointed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to serve on the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee. Mr. Leigh has previously served on the San Francisco Bar Association Lawyer Referral Committee and currently serves on the San Francisco Bar Association Judiciary Committee.
