Rav Grewal-Kök was born in Hong Kong. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with first class honours, from McGill University in 1997, where he majored in English Literature. He was also a sprinter on the varsity track and field team and a four-time Academic All-Canadian. Mr. Grewal-Kök received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2000. Following law school, Mr. Grewal-Kök clerked for the Honorable David F. Levi, of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. He then joined Keker & Van Nest in San Francisco, where for a number of years he represented clients in a wide range of criminal and civil litigation matters in the state and federal courts. Mr. Grewal-Kök specializes in legal writing for Gonzalez & Leigh. Concurrently with his work for the firm, he writes fiction and book reviews. His literary work has appeared and is forthcoming in various print and online magazines.
